A champion in light weight! Reuben (family) era extra lightweight cutty Charatan’s Make De Luxe 01 pipe. Such small pipes are called usually “A Ladie’s pipe” or “A pipe for one cup of coffe”. Made in 1950s the latest specially for Frederick Tranter pipe shop in Bath, England. The shape was inspired by ancient English clay pipes. An ultra rare finding!
The pipe markings are “CHARATAN’S MAKE \ LONDON.ENGLAND \ DE LUXE”, “01”, “FREDERICK TRANTER \ PIPE SHOP \ BATH” (already a bit difficult to read). The length is 13.8 cm (5.43″), bowl’s height is 3.7 cm (1.46″). External diameter of the bowl is 2.1 cm (1.83″), internal diameter is 0.9 cm (0.35″). The depth is 3.0 cm (1.18″) and this pipe weights 12 gr. Briar, vulcanite stem, no filter. When inserting the tennon the first few milimeters go quite freely, but further stem sits snug and reliable.
