CHARATAN'S MAKE 30120 Reject

CHARATAN’S MAKE 30120 Reject

England, 1960-70s

The shape and dimensions ideally fit Lane era Charatan’s 30120 shape, we have sold such the Charatan’s Make Belvedere 30120 recently. The grain says it has to be at least a great middle grade pipe – Perfection or Special, but the pipe was stamped as a “Reject” because of a few very small sandpits on the bowl. A wonderfull and moderately smoked smoking tool – recommended!

The pipe marking is “REJECT \ LONDON MADE”. The length is 15.2 cm (5.98″), bowl’s height is 4.8 cm (1.89″). External diameter of the bowl is 3.7 cm (1.46″), internal diameter is 2.0 cm (0.79″). The depth is 4.2 cm (1.65″) and this pipe weights 48 gr. Briar, vulcanite stem, no filter.

England, 1960s A heavy, capacious and very moderately smoked Charatan’s Make pipe of their best period (“Lane era”), i.e. 1960s – early 1970s, when the glory of Charatan’s eclipsed all competitors, including Dunhill. Generally the stamping “DC” should reffer to a patented double comfort stem. But this tapered stem fits the spirit and style of…

England, 1960s A great example of the Charatan’s production in 1970-s at Prescott Str. factory! The pipe looks really like a work of art: slightly asymmetric panelled bowl is skilfully combined with an almost the stright grain of briar. It sits in hand very warmly, reliably and trustfully indeed like many free hands can’t sit. Thus no need…
