CHARATAN'S MAKE Special 484DC

CHARATAN’S MAKE Special 484DC

England, 1960s

A very pleasant and comfortable Charatan’s Make pipe of their best period (“Lane era”), i.e. late 1960s – early 1970s, when the glory of Charatan’s eclipsed all competitors, including Dunhill. Despite the poker shape is a quite conservative standard, Charatan’s carvers added their own unique Charatan’s vision and style to it. Sincerely recommended!

The pipe markings are “CHARATAN’S MAKE \ LONDON. ENGLAND \ SPECIAL”, “484DC”. The length is 14.5 cm (5.71″), bowl’s height is 5.0 cm (1.97″). External diameter of the bowl is 4.1 cm (1.61″), internal diameter is 2.3 cm (0.9″). The depth is 4.2 cm (1.65″) and this pipe weights 48 gr. Briar, vulcanite stem, no filter. The stem is a nicely made in line with Charatan’s shape charts and well adjusted replacement. The chamber has some webbing, but we didn’t identify any critical problems.
