JOBEY Meerschaum Filter 200

JOBEY Meerschaum Filter 200

USA

The origin of the Jobey brand is a kind of a mystery. Most sources believe Jobey was an English founded company since the 1920s switched soon to production in USA. Later in the 1970s the majority of Jobey pipes were manufactured in St Claude, France and more sophisticated and exsquisite freehand “Jobey Danks” were made in Denmark, most probably by Karl Erik Ottendahl. “A well made pipe for the price”! The pipe markings are “Jobey \ MEERSCHAUM \ FILTER”, “200”. The length is 14.4 cm (5.67″), bowl’s height is 3.8 cm (1.5″). External diameter of the bowl is 4.2 cm (1.65″), internal diameter is 2.0 cm (0.79″). The depth is 3.1 cm (1.22″) and this pipe weights 40 gr. Briar, vulcanite stem, 9 mm filter. The Jobey meerschaum filters are almost the same Europian 9 mm pipe filters but many professionals believe meerschaum is much better adsorbent than traditional activated charcoal. Nevertheless the pipe may be smoked with any 9 mm filter according to your preference.
