JESPER OF DENMARK 56

Denmark

Classical upper middle grade Danish pipe designed by Jørgen Larsen. Jørgen worked for Stanwell from 1965 until 1969, and started making his own line of pipes in 1970. He also made pipes for Peter Stokkebye for about 25 years. Concurrent with his pipe making, Jørgen was also employed as an officer in an Arrest (jail) for 24 hours a week. Aside from creating one of the first high grade Danish brands (the Jørgen L) and his 30 odd year association with Peter Stokkebye, he was also technical director for both Stanwell and Kriswell (though not at the same time). In 2005 Jørgen sold his pipe factory and is currently not making pipes. The pipe has been restored to order.

The pipe marking is “JESPER \ OF DENMARK”, “56”. The length is 13.0 cm (5.12″), bowl’s height is 4.9 cm (1.93″). External dimensions of the bowl are 4.5 x 3.8 cm (1.77 x 1.5″), internal diameter is 2.0 cm (0.79″). The depth is 3.8 cm (1.5″) and this pipe weights 51 gr. Briar, vulcanite stem, 9 mm filter.

Denmark An extraordinary Danish work! As every proper Danish pipe it’s made of a good briar, shows nice grain and has skilfully designed freehand shape.
