CHARATAN Grosvenor

CHARATAN Grosvenor

England

A “post Lane” Charatan’s pipe made perhaps during the Dunhill times or even later. The sound classical sitter billiard.

The pipe markings (slightly faded)  are “CHARATAN GROSVENOR”. The length is 15.2 cm, bowl’s hight is 4.4 cm. External diameter of the bowl is  3.5 cm,  internal diameter is 2.0 cm. The depth is 3.5 cm and this pipe weights 40 gr. Briar, vulcanite stem, no filter. The chamber has been protected with a break-in coat. The shank looks to be not ideally straight but the air passage is very well visible from the end of the stem till the chamber. Thus there’s everything fine from the engineering point of view. The stem is newly made from the fresh piece of vulcanite so we can consider the pipe as a “partially unsmoked” :-).
