THOMSON Special 027

THOMSON Special 027

Italy – USA

The pipe made for the Thompson Cigar Co., established in 1915, of Tampa, Florida. It seems the majority of pipes for this tobacconist were made at Big Ben in Netherlands and in Turkey (meerschaum), but some experts mentioned that Savinelli produced pipes for Thomson too. So, perhaps this is exactly that case.

The pipe marking is “THOMSON \ SPECIAL”, “027”, “ITALY”. The length is 16.0 cm (6.3″), bowl’s height is 5.2 cm (2.05″). External diameter of the bowl is 4.3 cm (1.69″), internal diameter is 2.1 cm (0.83″). The depth is 4.4 cm (1.73″) and this pipe weights 50 gr. Briar, briar-acrylic stem, no filter.
