It is safe to say that the Austrian manufacturer Strambach is behind this pipe. Since 1904, Strambach has been delighting smokers with mouthpieces and meerschaum pipes. Today, it is the only manufacturer of meerschaum and calabash pipes in the European Union and is a highly respected company in Austria, having received numerous awards. Edith Corrieri, who has been the sole owner, manager, and leading craftsman since 1974, became one of the first female pipe makers in this industry—an area where we typically expect to see, as a rule, good-natured, mustachioed Turkish men.

As our visitors suggest, the Strambach company ceased to exist around 2016. Well, another interesting book has been read to the end…

Meerschaum, vulcanite stem, no filter. The stem is newly made of the fresh piece of vulcanite so we can consider the pipe as a “partially unsmoked” :-).

The pipe is not for sale. It was restored to order and has already started a new life in a new cozy home.
