STANWELL Brass Band 126

STANWELL Brass Band 126

Denmark, 1970s

An impressive Stanwell’s freehand pipe desgined by Tom Eltang and made in 1970s the earliest and definitely still at the Danish factory. The shining brass band creates an amazing contrast with black sandblasted briar surface.

The pipe markings are “STANWELL \ Brass \ Band \ MADE IN DENMARK”, “126”. The length is 13.0 cm (5.12″), bowl’s height is 4.8 cm (1.89″). External diameter of the bowl is 4.3 cm (1.7″), internal diameter is 2.1 cm (0.83″). The depth is 3.6 cm (1.42″) and this pipe weights 44 gr. Briar, vulcanite stem, no filter. The previous owner had very strong teeth, thus we had to fix some teethmarks and a small hole on the downside of the stem with a superstrong glue, but of course you may identify some signs of patching under a bright light. Also under a bright light the chamber may look not ideally smooth, perhaps after regular usage of some cleaning tools, but we didn’t identify any critical issues there.
