STANWELL 04M Reg era S.Ivarsson design

STANWELL 04M Reg era S.Ivarsson design

Denmark, 1960s

The Danish pipe from the most famous Stanwell period. The registration number was obtained by the company in 1948 and Stanwell pipes were stamped with it until the early 1970’s.  The shape 04 was designed by a great friend of the Stanwell – Sixten Ivarssson. The “M” states for the military mount stem. It’s not completely clear what the five angles star means. Very probably it’s the mark of one of Stanwell resellers similarly to Dunhill pipe with the 5-angles star which we have offered a bit earlier.

The pipe markings are”04M \ STANWELL \ REGD N969-48 \ MADE IN DENMARK” and the five-angles star. The length is 13.0 cm, bowl’s hight is 3.9 cm. External and internal diameters of the bowl are 4.1 cm and 2.0 cm. The depth is 3.1 cm and this pipe weights 40 gr. Briar, vulcanite stem, no filter.
