ROPP Reserve 507

ROPP Reserve 507

France

A genius detective, Mr Sherlock Holmes is traditionally associated with Peterson pipes, no matter that there’s no clear proof of that. It’s already a standard human perception. In such a case his famous colleague from another side of the Channel, Jules Magrait should be associated with Ropp pipes the most probably. And that’s absolutely reasonable, during many years since the end of the XIX century “Ropp” was a synonym to “French smoking pipe”.

A wonderful and symbolic representative of the most famous French manufacture which bears the “Reserve” name. Indeed this piece of briar looks as good and promising as good “reserve” wine from France!

The pipe markings are “ROPP”, “RESERVE \ 507”. The length is 14.8 cm (5.83″), bowl’s height is 4.3 cm (1.69″). External diameter of the bowl is 3.3 cm (1.3″), internal diameter is 1.8 cm (0.71″). The depth is 3.5 cm (1.38″) and this pipe weights 32 gr. Briar, vulcanite stem, aluminium stinger.
