Denmark, 1960s

A creature of young Preben Holm carved in the late 1960s, when his pipes were stamped with with the “Preben Holm” name and such grade numbers in a circle. At that time the artisan was not elder than 24 years and the era of fantastic success of his Danish Ben Wade pipes had to come very soon. An absolutely stunning unique ergonomic freehand pipe with the amazing plateau – a really collectible finding!

The pipe marking is “PREBEN HOLM \ Hand Cut \ COPENHAGEN \ DENMARK”, “(4)”. The length is 18.5 cm (7.28″), the bowl’s height is 7.6 cm (2.99″). External dimensions of the bowl are 6.6 x 4.8 cm (2.6 x 1.89″), internal diameter is 2.3 cm (0.9″). The depth is 3.9 cm (1.54″) and this pipe weights 85 gr. Briar, vulcanite stem, no filter.
