England, 1930-40s
A moderately smoked and well preserved Hardcastle’s family era pipe made before 1946 and very probably – before WWII (during the War the company was unable to obtain briar for production as many others English manufacturers).
The pipe marking is “HARDCASTLE’S \ BRITISH MADE \ CAMDEN”, “MADE IN LONDON \ ENGLAND”, “91”. The length is 14.9 cm (5.87″), the bowl’s height is 4.5 cm (1.77″). External diameter of the bowl is 3.3 cm (1.3″), internal diameter is 1.9 cm (0.75″). The depth is 4.0 cm (1.57″) and this pipe weights 32 gr. Briar, vulcanite stem, no filter. The bowl has a few more or less noticeable scratches and indentations, but we preferred to save the original finish in this pipe.
