H. SIMMONS Burlington Arcade 619C

England, 1950-70s

H. Simmons was one of the most famous London tobacconists with a long history and very nice tobacco shop in Burlington Arcade. The pipes were ordered from different sources including the Dunhill company. In 1980 the business was acquired by Dunhill. We can’t confirm that exactly this pipe was made by Dunhill, but you can compare it with similar Dunhills of the 241 or 124 shapes to see that these pipes are really very similar. Wonderful piece of briar and great addition to any collection!

The pipe markings are “H. SIMMONS \ BURLINGTON ARCADE”, “619 C””. The length is 14.2 cm (5.59″), bowl’s height is 4.2 cm (1.65″). External diameter of the bowl is 3.1 cm (1.22″), internal diameter is 1.8 cm (0.71″). The depth is 3.6 cm (1.42″) and this pipe weights 36 gr. Briar, vulcanite stem, no filter. The bowl has a couple of patches, you may identify it under a good light.
