England, 1950-70s

A striking example of the desperate and wild “prehistoric” sandblast from GBD. This quite tall billiard was made before 1980, i.e.  before the merge of the company with Comoy’s under a roof of Cadogan’s. Therefore the pipe is interesting by both the period of birth and belonging to this cult series. And the shape is very uncommon and pleasant too 🙂

The pipe markings are “(GBD) Prehistoric”, “LONDON ENGLAND \ 9491”. The length is 15.5 cm (6.1″), bowl’s height is 5.1 cm (2.01″). External diameter of the bowl is  3.7 cm (1.46″),  internal diameter is 2.2 cm (0.87″). The depth is 4.4 cm (1.73″) and this pipe weights 42 gr. Briar, vulcanite stem, no filter. The logo on the stem is a little bit smashed. The chamber has been protected with a break-in coat.
