GBD Virgin 269

GBD Virgin 269

England, 1950-70s

One of the top graded GBD pipes. The Virgin series followed their famous Pedigree, Prodigy and Straight Grain grades. The pipe was made in the 1970s latest, before the acquisition of the company by Cadogan. Amazing cross cut grain, wonderful straight bulldog shape. This is the really pleasant pipe; we did really enjoy while restored it and we’re sure the next owner will be happy with it.

The pipe markings  are “(GBD) \ VIRGIN”, “LONDON ENGLAND \ 269”. The length is 14.7 cm, bowl’s hight is 5.0 cm. External diameter of the bowl is 4.3 cm,  internal diameter is 2.2 cm. The depth is 4.2 cm and this pipe weights 40 gr. Briar, vulcanite stem, no filter. The chamber has been covered with a break-in coat. The previous owner was a bit inaccurate with matches (or whatewer he did use to light the pipe) and left slight darkening on the bottom of the bowl.
