CHARATAN’S MAKE Special 489DC unsmoked

England, 1960-70s

A very nice finding – unsmoked Charatan’s Special pipe from the 1960-70s. Moreover it’s the 489 shape which is on our opinion one the most successful and recognizable. We have already represented this Charatan’s model in smoked condition as well as the Bewlay pipe of the same shape made by Charatan’s.

The pipe markings are “CHARATAN’S MAKE \ LONDON. ENGLAND \ SPECIAL”, “489DC”, “REGD # \ 203573”. The length is 14.1 cm (5.55″), bowl’s height is 4.6 cm (1.81″). External diameter of the bowl is 4.3 cm (1.69″), internal diameter is 2.3 cm (0.91″). The depth is 3.9 cm (1.54″) and this pipe weights 47 gr. Briar, vulcanite stem, no filter. The pipe comes with its original box, whih is significantly well-worn over the many years of storage.
