England, 1930-50s

A very interesting high grade pipe from the oldest British registered pipe trade mark. Dating of BBB pipes is usually very difficult if possible at all, therefore normally it’s hard to say when exactly a partucular pipe was made. But in this case absence of the metal insert stem logo (commenced in 1950-60s), the “Hand Cut” stamping on the stem and especially the aluminium tube (stinger) hint the pipe could be much elder than from 1950s.

The pipe marking is ” \ BEST MAKE”, “MADE IN ENGLAND\ 611″, T.S.S \ BERMUDA”. The length is 14.9 cm (5.87″), the bowl’s height is 4.3 cm (1.69″). External diameter of the bowl is 3.3 cm (1.3″), internal diameter is 1.8 cm (0.71″). The depth is 3.7 cm (1.46″) and this pipe weights 28 gr. Briar, vulcanite stem, aluminium stinger.
