Denmark

Karl Erik Ottendahl (1942 – 2004) was one of the most famous Denmark artisans, who offered good, “really Danish” pipes for an affordable value. He began smoking pipe when he was 14, and started carving as a hobby. Over a few years Karl Erik founded his own workshop, but later he realized that the best way is to make pipes on his own. This pipe most probably was created in 1970-80s the latest, there’s still the old “numbered” grade stamped.

The pipe markings are “Karl Erik \ HANDMADE IN DENMARK \ 2”. The length is 13.5 cm (5.31″) and the bowl’s height is 4.6 cm (1.81″). External diameter of the bowl is 4.9 cm (1.93″), internal diameter is 2.0 cm (0.79″). The depth is 3.5 cm (1.38″) and this pipe weighs 59 gr. Briar, vulcanite stem, no filter.  The pipe was moderately smoked and well preserved.
