There’s a long-desired addition to our private collection: John Redman Special Best Briar 509 (the laddle shape, our favourite one!). A really great work of Redman’s carvers: perfect briar, amazing distinct grain, ideal shaping and drilling. The series was one of the top grades, only Redman’s Royal pipes are more valuable!

The pipe markings are “JOHN REDMAN \ LONDON MADE”, “Special \ BEST BRIAR \ MADE IN ENGLAND”, “509”. The length is 12.6 cm (4.96″), bowl’s height is 3.9 cm (1.54″). External diameter of the bowl is 4.3 cm (1.69″), internal diameter is 2.0 cm (0.79″). The depth is 3.1 cm (1.22″) and this pipe weights 36 gr. Briar, vulcanite stem, no filter.
