JOHN REDMAN Special Best Briar

England

This is not just a pipe from one of the highest series of John Redman’s London factory (only Redman’s Royal pipes are more valuable), but also probably the largest example we have ever encountered. A magnificent specimen — truly convincing craftsmanship!

Pipe markings “JOHN REDMAN \ LONDON MADE”, “MADE IN ENGLAND”, “Special \ BEST BRIAR”
Length 15.1 cm (5.94″)
Bowl Height 5.6 cm (2.2″)
Outside Diameter 4.1 cm (1.61″)
Chamber Diameter 2.0 cm (0.79″)
Chamber Depth 4.7 cm (1.85″)
Weight 62 gr.

Briar, vulcanite stem, aluminium air cooler. Upon close inspection, a very small gap can be seen between the shank and the mouthpiece; however, the mouthpiece itself remains firmly and securely in place.

The pipe has been thoroughly cleaned, polished, sanitized and now is ready for a new life.
