IL CEPPO 7

IL CEPPO 7

Italy

Here’s an eye popping, incredible, large & heavy and lightly smoked top grade pipe from Il Ceppo. Along with Mastro de Paja and Ser Jacopo Il Ceppo belongs to the famous Pesaro school of design. Yes, the company was started in 1978 in Pesaro, Italy (this city name you may read on numberous more or less expensives pipes almost in every collection) by Giorgio Imperatori, an architect. Giorgio retired in 1996 and sold the business to Franco Rossi who brought a true elegance of design and a unique flair. Also key individuals are Nadia Rossi (sister of Franco) and Massimo Palazzi who worked with Il Ceppo until 1998 when he founded his own brand, L’Anatra.

We even don’t know if there’s any sense to chant the praises more of this unique work of art 🙂

The pipe marking is “il ceppo \ HAND MADE \ ITALY \ (7)”. The length is 14.0 cm (5.51″), bowl’s height is 6.2 cm (2.44″). External dimesions of the bowl are 5.4 x 5.1 cm (2.12 x 2.01″), internal diameter is 2.2 cm (0.87″). The depth is 5.3 cm (2.09″) and this pipe weights 90 gr. Briar, acrylic stem, no filter.
