A really nice French work – typical for Butz-Choquin wideshanked lovat with the eye catching grain! That’s another one proof that French pipes can compete any world-known brand.

The pipe markings are “Butz-Choquin \ Capitan \ FLAMME”, “STCLAUDE. FRANCE”. The length is 12.8 cm (5.04″), bowl’s height is 4.6 cm (1.81″). External diameter of the bowl is 3.9 cm (1.54″), internal diameter is 2.1 cm (0.83″). The depth is 3.7 cm (1.46″) and this pipe weights 40 gr. Briar, vulcanite stem, no filter. The stummel had a couple of small dents carefully and reliably patched during the restoration. The chamber has normal smoked wear not without some roughness, but definitely without critical issues.
