BJARNE NIELSEN Viking Classic

Denmark

A pipe made by Bjarne Nielsen (1941–2008), an outstanding Danish master and professional diplomat.

Many pipe makers came from various backgrounds — engineers, telecommunication technicians, blacksmiths, and so on. However, it was highly unexpected for a diplomat working at the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs to enter this field.

During the 1960s and ’70s, demand for Danish pipes was extremely high, and even diplomats were called upon to support pipe makers internationally. With all established makers overloaded with orders, Bjarne began offering his own pipes, and what started as a hobby soon became the work of his life.

Pipe markings “VIKING CLASSIC”

The pipe has been thoroughly cleaned, polished, sanitized and now is ready for a new life.
