Hand made pipe from a great Italian carver. Aldo Pierluigi started carving pipes in the 1970s, all pipes are made of the best Italian briar, all bowls are carved and finished by hands, no templates. Until today Aldo works 12 hours a day 7 days per week and is famous as one of the most hardworking makers, who offers great pipes for a great price. Most of modern pipes from Aldo are marked “Mastro Beraldi” and pipes with Per Imei Amici (“for my friends”) nomenclature are made for friends and the best customers.
The pipe markings are “Pierluigi \ FATTA A MANO \ PER I MIEI AMICI”, “D”, “2”. The length is 12.5 cm (4.92″), bowl’s height is 5.9 cm (2.32″). External diameter of the bowl is 4.9 cm (1.93″), internal diameter is 2.0 cm (0.79″). The depth is 5.0 cm (1.97″) and this pipe weights 70 gr. Briar, acrylic-briar stem, no filter. It seems the last owner had an issue with the stuck stem and tried to fix it with pliers and a swiss file. Thus we had to carefully and reliably fix a neatcrack in the shank, the tennon looks a bit bitten, but sits reliable enough.
