Cornishman London Made

Cornishman London Made

England

There isn’t too much we can tell about this pipe. It also comes from the 1950th collection. The marking is “Cornishman London Made”. The more we are getting familiar with english pipes the more we feel that in the middle of XX century there was a special pipe brand in every town (like there was a special kind of “samogon” – home made vodka – in every Ukrainian village at the same time :-))

This nice english buldog pipe is 14.8 cm long, 4.5 cm tall  and weights 36 gr. The bowl’s external diameter is 2.9 cm, inner – 1.9  cm, inner depth – 3.5 cm. Vulcanite stem, air cooler.

Our investigation brought us to the McGahey tobacconist in Exeter, UK. Some of such “palm” pipes were created or repaired by their carver and stamped with this logo. Unfortunately…

  • REJECT London Made

England A nicely made English pipe. The heavy bowled bent shape and cross cut grain look quite similar to Charatan’s products from 1960’s, but the pipe is just a beautiful item regardless its origin. And the dark spot on the bowl’s back doesn’t prevent a smoking pleasure.
