An interesting finding for collectors of European pipes and especially for the Hilson admirers. Yes, in fact it’s a Hilson product made before the 1980s. The series was named for Albert Hillen, son of Jean Hillen, the founder of the brand. Although Hilson pipes are currently made by new owner at the Bigben factory, Albertson pipes are no longer produced.
The pipe markings are “S 16”, “ALBERTSON \ SPECIAL”, “MADE IN BELGIUM”. The length is 12.8 cm (5.04″), bowl’s height is 4.2 cm (1.65″). External diameter of the bowl is 3.1 cm (1.22″), internal diameter is 1.9 cm (0.75″). The depth is 3.4 cm (1.34″) and this pipe weights 30 gr. Briar, vulcanite stem, no filter.
