VAUEN 4479

VAUEN 4479

Germany, 2000s

Vauen pipes became de facto a standard of a mass market West European smoking pipes with a filter. One of the oldest German companies eclipsed all competitors both in Germany and neighboring countries and now it’s not only a worldwide famous and respected enterprise, but also a very creative and innovative manufacturer. Everyone knows 9 mm Vauen activated carbon filters (there are about 150 million filters sold per anum); every pipe smoker would be impressed by non-standard, but very attractive Zeppelin smoking devices, special entry level Pipo (Quixx) pipes and a fantastic variety of models and shapes! This pipe is from our own collection, it was smoked just a few times, and there is still light track of the factory made break-in coat in the chamber.

The pipe markings are “VAUEN \ 4479”. The length is 13.1 cm (5.16″), bowl’s height is 4.6 cm (1.81″). External diameter of the bowl is 4.7 cm (1.85″), internal diameter is 2.1 cm (0.83″). The depth is 3.3 cm (1.3″) and this pipe weights 61 gr. Briar, acrylic stem, 9 mm filter. The pipe comes with the original box and sleeve.

  • BEN WADE Hand Model

England, 1960s A great example of the Charatan’s production in 1970-s at Prescott Str. factory! The pipe looks really like a work of art: slightly asymmetric panelled bowl is skilfully combined with an almost the stright grain of briar. It sits in hand very warmly, reliably and trustfully indeed like many free hands can’t sit. Thus no need…
