A fantastic creature of the Alfred era Sasieni! Despite the extreme popularity of the rusticated Sasieni pipes this freehand convinces undoubtedly that Sasieni was equally great in smooth finishes and among classical shapes they were absolutely successfull and “natural” in free forms.

The “Natural” line was introduced “long time ago” in 1940s among many other changes (shapes, grades, positioning and size of the blue dots), when Alfred Sasieni became the business owner and the top manager The series was a bestseller until the Alfred era grew dim in the 1970s.

A rare, unique and highly collectable pipe!

The pipe markings are “Sasieni \ FOUR DOT NATURAL \ LONDON MADE”, “MADE IN \ ENGLAND”, “”PICCADILLY””. The length is 15.2 cm (5.98″), bowl’s height is 6.0 cm (2.36″). External diameter of the bowl is 4.4 cm (1.73″), internal diameter is 2.4 cm (0.94″). The depth is 4.8 cm (1.89″) and this pipe weights 63 gr. Briar, vulcanite stem, no filter. The chamber has been protected with a break-in coat.

A decent response to Danish artisans!

    USA The brand we are not familiar with. Our sources (books and web sites) don’t give any hints either. The most probably it’s an American pipe. Nice straight grain indeed!

    Denmark, 1980s The W.Ø. Larsen Port pipes are relatively affordable and they were made already during the 1980-90s, when the company tried to enter a mass market. Due to its unique shape the pipe sits in a hand very comfortably and naturally. A wonderful example! Pipe markings “Port”, “84”, “W.Ø. LARSEN \ MADE IN DENMARK”…
