PETERSON'S Kildare 69

PETERSON’S Kildare 69

Ireland, 1950-80s

According to many experts Kildare series was launched yet in the 1950s and was being produced until 1990s. The 69 shape is perhaps the most attractive and elegant implementation of the bent pipe concept. So the pipe is still a good old “Irish Peterson” made in Dublin unlike todays “Italian Petersons” – both the experts and the pipe quality and condition prove that. Good finding for a collection!

The pipe marking is “Peterson’s \ “KILDARE””, “MADE IN THE \ REPUBLIC \ OF IRELAND”, “69”. The length is 13.7 cm (5.39″), bowl’s height is 4.7 cm (1.85″). External diameter of the bowl is 3.5 cm (1.38″), internal diameter is 1.9 cm (0.75″). The depth is 3.7 cm (1.46″) and this pipe weights 38 gr. Briar, vulcanite stem, no filter.

Now such Dunmore pipes are a rarity and cause much more collectors’ interest than “standard” Peterson’s Standard devices….

Ireland, 1910-15 This small compact (or better to say – “pocket”) billiard has recently celebrated its century. And not only the stem of a retro design and an unusual bone stinger tells about it.
