Ireland, 1970-80s

The Dunmore series was produced in 1970-80s and represents in fact the same highly popular Peterson’s System design. But the shank is decorated with a nice carving instead of an nickel or a silver endcap. Now such Dunmore pipes are a rarity and cause much more collectors’ interest than “standard” Peterson’s Standard devices. Especially if it’s an unsmoked Dunmore with the original box and sleeve!

The pipe markings are “Peterson’s \ “DUNMORE””, MADE IN THE \ REPUBLIC OF \ IRELAND”, “73”. The length is 12.7 cm (5″), bowl’s height is 4.6 cm (1.81″). External diameter of the bowl is 3.1 cm (1.22″), internal diameter is 1.8 cm (0.71″). The depth is 4.0 cm (1.57″) and this pipe weights 34 gr. Briar, vulcanite stem, no filter. The pipe comes with the original box and sleeve, of course they have visible signs of storage over many decades.
