Denmark, 1960s

One of the very first and the very collectables W.O. Larsen pipes stamped “Larsen Copenhagen”. In the most sources the “Copenhagen era” isn’t precisely defined but many experts call so period from the early 1960s till early 1970s. Every such Larsen pipe is usually a subject of many discussions and investigations – who actually made this pipe, there were many brilliant carvers working for W.O. Larsen. In this case we would leave the question up to your decision – in any case the pipe is a great and collectable sample from the golden era of Danish pipe making!

The pipe marking is “LARSEN \ COPENHAGEN \ HANDMADE \ MADE IN DENMARK”, “RUSTICA”. The length is 14.2 cm (5.59″), the bowl’s height is 5.7 cm (2.24″). External diameter of the bowl is 4.3 cm (1.69″), internal diameter is 2.1 cm (0.83″). The depth is 4.7 cm (1.85″) and this pipe weights 61 gr. Briar, vulcanite stem, no filter. The stem is newly made of the fresh piece of vulcanite so we can consider the pipe as a “partially unsmoked” :-).
