JOHN REDMAN Dr John 34

JOHN REDMAN Dr John 34

England

A reliable, practical and affordable pipe made at John Redman factory in London approximately in 1950-60s. The name of a series comes from a name of the founder of the company most likely. Why to be over-modest? 🙂 A comfortable classical lightweight English billiard, nice grain, good smoker!

The pipe markings are “DR JOHN \ LONDON MADE”, “34”. The length is 13.5 cm (5.31″), bowl’s height is 4.3 cm (1.69″). External diameter of the bowl is  3.4 cm (1.34″),  internal diameter is 1.9 cm (0.75″). The depth is 3.6 cm (1.42″) and this pipe weights 30 gr. Briar, vulcanite stem, no filter. The chamber has been protected with a break-in coat. The tennon looks a bit turned aside but the stem sits reliable and the air passage is visible and accessible by a pipe cleaner without any substantial complications.

  • JOHN REDMAN Canberra 25

England A pretty nice, moderately smoked and unusually balanced Redman’s middle size and middle grade billiard approximately from 1960-70’s. The shape with such a proportion of the stummel and the stem looks a bit provocative, but in fact many Redman pipes were made in very provocative shapes and finishes at that time.
