JOHN REDMAN Canterbury

England

One of the popular, unambitious and affordable pipes made on the John Redman factory in London in 1950-60’s. Draw attention to the large and convincing metallic air cooler of a spoon shape – it’s very typical for many Redman’s products from that time.

The pipe markings are “CANTERBURY \ LONDON MADE”, “MADE IN ENGLAND”. The length is 14.0 cm (5.51″), bowl’s height is 4.4 cm (1.73″). External diameter of the bowl is 3.2 cm (1.26″), internal diameter is 1.8 cm (0.71″). The depth is 3.8 cm (1.5″) and this pipe weights 32 gr. Briar, vulcanite stem, no filter. The chamber has been protected with a break-in coat. The bowl had a few chips carefully patched during the restoration and almost invisible now.

England We have a suspicion that the pipe was born in 1979 when a carver saw the “Alien” movie for the first time. Of course, it’s a joke, but the pipe’s shape is extraterrestrial indeed. By the way, we have met a Sasieni one of the same shape recently.
