GBD Dynasty 549

GBD Dynasty 549

England, 1950-70s

A very rare GBD pipe! Even experienced collectors are unfamiliar with the “Dynasty” series. The only thing we can say for sure: this is the “Pre-Comoys” pipe made before 1981.

The pipe markings are “(GBD) \ DYNASTY \ LONDON.ENGLAND \ 549”. The length is 13.5 cm, bowl’s hight is 3.9 cm. External and internal diameters of the bowl are 4.1 cm and 2.1 cm. The depth is 3.0 cm and this pipe weights 39 gr. Briar, vulcanite stem, no filter. The chamber has been protected with a break-in coat. The stem is newly made from the fresh piece of vulcanite so we can consider the pipe as a “partially unsmoked” :-).

France Yet another striking example of skills of the French GBD division. The company was the same on both coasts of the English Channel, but genuine French addiction to freedom of creativity and self-expression couldn’t be hidden under any regulations and corporate standards. And the result (especially in this case) is above any praises: the…

England, 1950-70s The design of GBD pipes always corresponds to the name of models very successfully.
