GBD City De Luxe 5071

England, 1950-70s

GBD was perhaps the most fruitful and creative English company in terms of shapes, models and sub-brands. Nevertheless the “City de Luxe” line with the effective 5-angle star can’t be confused with anything else! The pipe from the “pre-Cadogan” period, or more precisely – made before the merge with Comoy’s in 1980.

The pipe markings are “City de Luxe \ LONDON MADE”, “MADE IN ENGLAND \ 5071”. The length is 12.5 cm (4.92″), bowl’s height is 4.8 cm (1.89″). External diameter of the bowl is 3.5 cm (1.38″), internal diameter is 1.9 cm (0.75″). The depth is 4.0 cm (1.57″) and this pipe weights 38 gr. Briar, vulcanite stem, no filter.
