(CHARATAN’S MAKE) Reject Made By Hand
England, 1960-70s Both the stamping “Made by hand” and the heavy bowled shape were absolutely typical for the Charatan’s second Lane era (1965 – middle of 1970s) pipes. This sample was perhaps predetermined to become at least an upper middle grade pipe, but a couple of scratches and chips changed its destiny quite dramatically and…

Made in London large bent
England An absolutely convincing large & heavy English bent pipe. Such the stamping (MADE IN LONDON \ ENGLAND) was used by many great makers including Parker-Hardcastle and Orlik, we don’t have a convincing proof of the specific pipe manufacturer.

England If you can identify this pipe’s manufacturer and justify it you’ll get 7.5% discount for this or another one pipe published in April. The pipe is from the same collection where we found Cornishman. It’s in the perfect condition, very lightweight and comfortable.

England We didn’t find any hint who could make this pipe. Some sources mention Comoy’s London Tower pipes although the stamping font on this pipe is noticeably different to Comoys. The shape and the sandblasted surface are reminiscent of Orlik creatures, such as Captain Black. But it’s just a remark. Pipe markings “LONDON TOWER \…

But untill 1967 family management of the company retained a certain independence. This pipe was made most probably between 1946 and 1967: the stamping is still arched but…
